About

The Cathedral is an independent, Pentecostal Church planted in Evansville over 70 years ago by our founding pastor the late A.D. VanHoose, (affectionately known as Brother Van.) We are affiliated with the International Ministerial Association (IMA),  and have a passion to continue growing and impacting lives, using technology and the arts to strategically communicate the good news of Jesus Christ.  We’re all about Making Disciples! New ones and better ones!  Every week we preach the gospel from God’s Word, and watch as His power and love transforms lives! He can do the same for you, too!

Everything about our approach to our services, discipleship process, teaching, outreach and evangelism is purposed in connecting  non-believers to Christ.  Seeing people saved by Jesus, helping them grow through discipleship, and finally serving others, is our way of fulfilling the Matthew 28:19-20 Great Commission.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20
