CHURCH! ACTIVATE!

11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.

EPHESIANS 4:11-16

Church Activate

It is our hope that this series would activate you and put you on the track with Jesus’ Great Commission in mind – that is to “Go Ye into All the World…”

Don’t get it twisted, this is not about doing more things to appear a certain way, or striving out of place of trying to earn his love, care, and blessings. You’re his child! you already have that! It’s hard wired/encoded into your identity as his child.

So no, we don’t do things or give out of a compulsion or need to prove or earn anything, but out of a heart of gratitude for all that he’s already done, and our lives lived out of a PURE devotion formed from that gratitude, give of ourselves to others, to show and lead them to the profound love and acceptance of our Lord, Jesus Christ!

The Church for too long has adopted this mindset and therefore we as christians, that we need to bring people to Our Church and to hear Our Pastor/Ministry Team, or one of our favorites, to experience and receive from the Lord, but in the passage (Ephesians 4:11-16) we see that Christ himself, gave us a model to follow and a structure, the Kingdom Structure, of a 5 Fold Ministry to follow, with the purpose of equipping THE SAINTS themselves, not just the “professionals” or church staff, but everyone who bears his name, to be equipped for the work of the Ministry! This means, that, wherever I go this week, I’m on a mission, I’m sent for ministry.

God wants to use you and me to be, even in maybe just a small way, like a word of kindness, a smile, etc., his hands and feet.
I guarantee as a collective, we get to touch more people than the  person on the platform at our church does every week.
Let’s not take that for granted!

Simple Potential Actions

First things first, when you begin your day, Pray and ask the holy spirit to lead and guide you in the day and give you opportunities and divine appointments in the day ahead. He will!

Some simple gestures you can do when going about your day.

  • Greet people with a smile,
  • Genuinely ask people how they are, or
  • Ask if there is anything they are in need of prayer for, and Pray for them.
  • Maybe open the door for a stranger.
  • Invite someone to church.
  • Share your faith with someone.
