We’re so excited to welcome you to our church for our 2023 rendition of Jesus: His Story!
This years performance will be slightly different from what is our usual production in that we will split it into two days. We encourage you, if possible, please attend both!
Part 1: Good Friday • April 7th at 7:00pm,
On Good Friday, the production will follow Jesus and his disciples opening with John the Baptist preparing the way for the Lord, taking communion with Jesus and his disciples at The Last Supper, and ending with the Crucifixion of our Lord.
We will end Part 1, leaving that evening with the somberness of how Jesus’ followers must’ve felt at that moment.
Part 2: Resurrection Sunday (Easter Sunday) • April 9th at 10:00am
On Sunday Morning, we will have ONE combined service at 10:00am the production will pick up from where we left off with the Crucifixion and Jesus body having been laid in a borrowed tomb with anticipation of His resurrection of our Lord that we typically celebrate on Easter Sunday morning!
For those that are interested, Sunday School classes will still take place but at 9:00am instead of the typical 9:45am time slot.
Other Considerations
There may be certain parts of this production that may be sensitive to certain audiences, even though the Life, death and Resurrection of Chirst is a very well known story, we don’t want to assume anything and for you to be caught off-guard by it.
Graphic Depictions
Being a dramatic telling of the story of Jesus, there are going to be a few scenes that may be graphic for certain ages, for example the whipping and crucifixion of Jesus may be too much for some younger children who do not understand. The foyer is equipped with TV monitors for you to see a wide shot of what is going on in the sanctuary if you do have to step out for certain moments that may be too much for little ones.
Light Sensitivity / Epilepsy
If you are epileptic and/or sensitive to production lighting, please be aware that there are spotlights that move and follow characters around and highlight things within the scenes/production. Also, there is a storm scene at the resurrection that will include flashes of thunder & lighting.
Sound Sensitivity
If you are particularly sensitive to sound, there are parts of the play that include thunder & lightning and loud music at times. We will provide earplugs for anyone who may need them at the production booth at the back of the Sanctuary/Auditorium.
Nursery / Kids Church
Our Nursery will still be available on both Good Friday and Sunday Morning for kids 0-3 years of age.
There is NO Kids Church (Adventure Kids) on Easter Sunday morning.
We look forward to your visit!
