Plan a visit | What to expect
We’re excited you’re considering a visit!
The thought of visiting a new church for the first time may be anxiety-inducing for some, so we want to help make your experience a good one. Below are some frequently asked questions.
Where should I park?
We have both guest, and handi-capable parking spaces in the front of the building on both sides, as well as family spots near our family entrance of building 2 on the southwest side of the parking lot making it more convenient for you to park and check-in your children.
What should I wear?
Our services are for you, so come dressed however you feel most comfortable. We’re thrilled that you’re joining us and want you to be more focused on the service than what you’re wearing. Dressed up or dressed down, we have a variety of styles at our services.
When should I show up?
We have 2 weekend services for you to choose from; Sunday at 8:30am and 10:45am, (with Sunday School in between at 9:45am). If you have children and would like them to participate in nursery or Kid’s church, so that you won’t feel rushed, we do recommend that you arrive 30 minutes before the service so that you have time to drop off your kids to the nursery, or at their programs and make your way over to the main auditorium.
Do you have something for my Children?
Yes, we do! At The Cathedral, we are committed to keeping your children safe and secure and have implemented a child check-in system, which is designed to provide you with a quick and simple check-in experience when dropping off your child. Please note that ALL children ages birth – 6th grade attending Children’s Ministries are required to be checked in and out by a parent or guardian at one of the Children’s check-in entrances.
How Do I Check-In my Children?
You will approach one of the check in entrances in Building 2 (middle building). When you check your child into Bible Adventureland, both you and your child should receive a nametag sticker. Hold onto this, you will need this to check your child back out of the secure area at the end of the service.
Our Nursery check-in is on the South Hallway, and the Bible Adventureland check-in is on the North hallway of Building 2. If you get here and are not sure where to go, just ask! Someone would be glad to guide you and point you in the right direction!
So that you won’t feel rushed, we do recommend that you arrive 30 minutes before the service so that you have time to drop off your kids to the nursery, or at their programs and make your way over to the main auditorium.
Nursery
For children 3 and under, we have a beautiful, newly built nursery wing. As stated above, you will need to check your child into and out of this secure area.
Children’s Church – Adventure Kids (Age 4 thru 5th grade)
We have an awesome children’s building, appropriately named Bible Adventureland. Much of this building was designed and built by a former Disney artist and has themed classrooms such as Jonah and whale, Samsons Theater, and even a 2-story Noah’s Ark with a slide out the back. All designed to bring the Bible stories they’re hearing to life and aid in teaching your children about Jesus & their faith. Your kids are going to love it!
Again, you will need to check your children into and out of this secured area.
Worship
This time is set aside for communicating with God from our hearts. We have live upbeat worship with guitars, drums – the works, as well as intimate songs of worship. Everyone worships in their own unique way – for many, that means singing, clapping and raising their hands, and for others it means quietly reflecting on the words. At The Cathedral, you’re welcome to do what comes from the heart in praise to God.
The “Offering”
Each week there is a time to worship God through the giving of tithes and offerings. Often, during one of the songs, you will see ushers bring baskets to the front and people will step out and bring their tithing or financial gift and place it in that basket as an act of worship. (Other opportunities are given later in the service to give, if you’re not comfortable or able to make your way down.) As our guest, please do not feel any pressure to give. This is an act of worship for our regular attendees, allowing them to thank God for all of the great work he is doing in their lives. It also gives our church the means to reach more people for Christ in the future.
The Message
In every service you will hear a relevant, straightforward message that is based on Scripture and is designed to be helpful in your everyday life. We trust that these messages will help you develop a growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and provide a strong biblical foundation for your life.
Communion (The Lord’s Supper)
Periodically, we celebrate communion together. Anyone can participate in this time of reflection and prayer – as long as they’ve made the decision to follow Jesus Christ. The juice and bread that we share represent the life He gave up so that our sins could be forgiven.
We look forward to your visit and meeting you!
